Yes. Unless we see the suffering in person right in front of our eyes, we (as a society) seem to easily turn away and pretend it doesn't exist. I think partly because we feel so helpless, as though there is nothing we can do to help.

We can. We can pressure governments to act, show them the world cares about fellow humans, even when they don't live in our own country, or we don't know them personally.

Our silence enables the atrocities to continue. Thank you for speaking up and speaking out.
