Being gifted usually includes over-excitabilities, which are also considered heightened sensitivities (Dabrowski's Overexcitabilities in Gifted Children) - however, one does not need to be gifted to be HSP, nor HSP to be gifted. And being sensitive has both pros and cons, just like anything else.
