Yes, I agree. Telling someone how they feel can be counter-productive. I guess I couched it by saying "you sound angry" rather than you are--but your point is valid. It depends on the person too, some kids don't want you pointing anything out--not their body language or their tone of voice. Sometimes it helps to redirect and offer comfort without addressing that part at all.
