What a HORRIBLE way for professionals to respond to someone, regardless of how much they and you disagreed with his self-assessment. Attitudes like this are part of the reason why people are self-diagnosing, some psychologists have become so self-important, they completely dismiss and invalidate individual experience.

Musk is an asshole. I don’t know if he is autistic or not, but that has nothing to do with it, and it’s not for me to decide.

Aside from trillionaires, average folks face so many barriers to diagnosis (clinician bias being one of them), that is why self-diagnosis is valid and has become widely accepted in the Autistic community.

I can’t imagine how I would have felt if people laughed at me when I told them I was Autistic. How cruel.
