Ugh I'm so sorry you were treated that way!! And you're right, some people just want to "fix" anything they deem outside their perception of "normal" and are more concerned with that than they are for the impact of their behaviour on that human being.
And fully agree with having a complete disregard for arbitrary hierarchies and "authority". I don't care what your title is or how many letters you have after your name, I'll respect you when you've earned it and won't if you treat people like crap.
My son is great at that. He has no problem calling out unfair & harmful behaviour in adults, doesn't matter who they are, and I'm proud of him for standing up for what he believes in.
