This is so wonderful, and I am glad you had this experience. I wish more of us did!

… now I know that other kids and teachers and adults thinking I was just really weird was a blessing. I am also very lucky to have grown up with a mom and a dad who thought my “weirdness” was just fine and encouraged me to be myself no matter what anyone else thought. This was an excellent article. Thank you for writing it.
This is why I now feel lucky that I wasn’t diagnosed until I was 43.
