This is exactly true. Elaine Aaron "diagnosed" her own daughter with HSP because she didn't want her to be 'labelled' Autistic. She then proceeded to "diagnose" many women as HSP, not understanding that Autism presents differently in females, despite the fact that all HSP traits can be explained by Autism.

That doesn't mean there aren't non-Autistic HSP, but those can be explained by other things: maybe anxiety, ADHD, SPD, c-PTSD, etc, etc. HSP is redundant and diverts people from getting proper assessment and support.

Recognize that Elaine Aaron has made an entire business out of selling HSP. There are courses, books, workshops, etc. she sells for profit.

If the identity HSP works for you, by all means, go ahead and use it. The arguments made by people who are saying that HSP is essentially Autism but masked are correct.
