This is actually a fairly harmful stereotype that has been perpetuated by professionals and the media. While some Autistics struggle to understand what/how neurotypicals process, perceive, or think--equally as many neuorotypicals struggle to understand how Autistics process, perceive, or think. Yet Autistics have great ToM when it comes to other Autistics, and NTs with NTs. This doesn't point to a poor ToM, it points to the fact that we're so neurologically different that we struggle to understand each others' point of view.
