I just found this article, I'm sorry I'm so late to the game! It reminded me of a podcast I once listened to, it was Dr. Saline describing ADHD as trauma with a lowercase t and "death by a thousand paper cuts", which I think was another way of describing complex-PTSD from the constant barrage of criticism and corrections that people receive when they operate outside of the "norm".
