I had a friend who was in a terrible car crash. He used a wheelchair for a while, then a walker, then a cane, etc. He was young and "healthy-looking" (as far as our societal expectations go), and endured many comments from people saying "you don't look disabled" after he parked in an accessible space with his placard/tag clearly visible. Young, attractive people can STILL BE DISABLED.
