Honestly, I had a H.S. teacher do this for me, and it was fantastic. I was in "gifted" classes but also had undiagnosed (at the time) ADHD. One teacher could see that their class was not something I was interested in and was only taking because I had to. They also saw I was knowledgeable, but struggled with working memory (couldn't memorize a damn thing). They gave me a 75% so I didn't have to write the exam, and let me focus my studying on the courses that were important for me to get into my desired Universit course.
