But why should we dampen our passion and engagement just to make others more comfortable? I get what you mean, that it depends on your goal: if your aim is to have your message reach more people, you have to come across as cool-headed and in control, otherwise people will tune you out. It is about picking our battles. However I also think people need to check with themselves and evaluate why emotions make them so uncomfortable, and perhaps they can sit with that discomfort a bit, and even support those who are passionate.
