Although I would honestly look at why you feel the need (as many do) to differentiate your son from “those other Autistics” who bang their their heads against the wall. Those autistics may have IQs in the 140s or 150s, but are in the throes of sensory overload or a meltdown. We can all experience all levels of functioning depending on whether our needs are being met in that given moment. Don’t be so quick to distance yourself (or your son) from “those other” Autistics. We all have similarities & differences.
